About

The University of California Press is committed to illuminating the convergence of history, culture, science, and technology in our rapidly evolving global society. While sharing the progressive mission and values of the University of California, UC Press curates, develops, and publishes high quality scholarship in critical disciplines that have the potential to change how readers think, plan, and govern.

California Scholarship Online (CALSO) provides access to hundreds of titles in 9 subject areas. Hosting the UC Press's monographs via the University Press Scholarship Online (UPSO) platform is one of the many ways in which UC Press serves the academic community and meets the research needs of students, scholars, faculty, and librarians. CALSO allows the UC Press to leverage new technology in exciting ways while enhancing accessibility and searchability of our books in an online environment.

“We know it is critical for libraries to broaden patron access to online scholarly books. Bringing our digital monographs to the scholarly community—with tools to facilitate ease of use and discovery—is a major way in which University of California Press can meet that need. We are delighted to partner with Oxford in the UPSO initiative, building on their extensive experience in the scholarly digital environment.”
