The Federation-Canji Relationship in Wenchang County
This chapter examine the relation between the China Disabled Persons' Federation (CDPF) and canji in Wenchang County, analysing the ways in which the party-state's involvement in the definition and management of populations textured the interpersonal environment through which identities emerged. It aims to enhance what is known more broadly about how the intersection of state and sociopolitical transformations situated bodies as sites wherein the relational messiness of identity formation took place.
