This chapter discusses Florence as a center for researches and investigations into the Italian Renaissance. It discusses Florentine's historiography, which had been the focus of numerous studies on the Renaissance. However, the chapter also discusses the gradual weakening of Florence's historiography and of its status as the sole creator of the Renaissance culture.
