Records of parasites in crocodilians date to the early 1800s. Sources of information on crocodilian parasites are widely scattered and often published in inaccessible journals. Previously published checklists of vertebrate or reptilian parasites have included crocodilians; however, many did not include all crocodilian species or all crocodilian parasite species reported. The survey includes all parasites identified in the particular host from the earliest documented crocodilian parasite to the present.
