This chapter identifies several jazz musicians who have made some relevant contributions to jazz, which have been largely unrecognized. It looks at Pete Daily, a bandleader who was the basis of Jack Webb's character in Pete Kelly's Blues. Other musicians discussed in this chapter include lively saxophonist Sammy Lee, the lunch-hour horn man of Douglas Aircraft Stew Pletcher (who had recordings of his own), and Pud Brown, who was born into a family of musicians.
