This chapter discusses the myth of the chosen people, the rejection of the Diaspora, the Sabra and the Holocaust, Sabraism as a cultural seal of approval, the Sabra as the Ashkenazi elite's favorite son, and the Bren and the brightest. It also considers linguistic expressions of elitism and narcissism, the myth of the fighting Sabra and his symbolic accessories, as well as the paratrooper, pilot, and marine commando as heirs of the Palmachnik.
