This chapter sums up the key findings of this study on genealogy and mobility across the Indian Ocean related to the Hadrami diaspora. It explains that Hadrami sayyid names did not stay within small locales but are distributed and recognized across the Indian Ocean and that the Hadrami genealogies that comprise the names evolved as the diaspora moved, spreading a tissue of names across the ocean. It also suggests that like the sayyid names, the graves of Tarim have become tied to communities of pilgrimage elsewhere by the genealogies and the mobilities of the old diaspora.
