This chapter discusses the nature of feasting and its context in Chumash society. It provides an overview of diet and subsistence resources, and compares the floral and fauna remains from two historic-period settlements, Helo' and Talepop. The chapter also examines storage and the gender roles in feasts, before concluding with a section on the feasting behavior of the Chumash.
