Based on an interview conducted in England in 1964, in this autobiographical essay, D. T. Suzuki reflects upon the personal and spiritual experiences that shaped his long life. In particular, Suzuki focuses on his first experiences of Zen practice in Kamakura, Japan, and details the nature of his deepening understanding of Zen Buddhism.
