One reuse of a sepolcro in the mid-twentieth century was Bruno Maderna and Luigi Nono’s rediscovery of a 1705 work, an adaptation performed in 1950. This was the last piece that Leopold I would have heard before his death in 1705. The book concludes by revisiting the sepolcro with which it had opened, the 1697 La Virtù della Croce, a piece that moves in the direction of an individual ars moriendi.
